HSPH President Chen Zhiyu was on a trip to the hospital affiliated with the University of Toronto, UCSF Medical Center and Rio Hondo College in November, 2019 to seek future cooperation with world-renowned institutions. 
He attended a meeting with scientists from the Neuroscience Research Lab at Medical College of UOT, in which he learned about its salary system and the ways to advance and manage the scientific research. Also, in the meeting he proposed the future academic cooperation related to the early intervention for mental disorders, and hoped to further the cooperation in the research on severe mental diseases.

In Rio Hondo College, President Chen met with the faculty for a discussion on the lecturing of psychology, psychological counseling for students, psychological intervention, and obsessive-compulsive disorder, etc., and on the way of promoting mental health education in local schools.

President Chen’s visit was a successful attempt to intensify the exchanges with peers worldwide. It marks a new stage of psychiatric and psychological research in HSPH, and also brings a reference from elsewhere in the world to help make HSPH renowned for research and academic performance.
