Biography：

Dr. Tan is a chief physician and head of  Ward No. 6 (Department of Depressive Disorder) at Hangzhou Seventh People's Hospital. He received his master's degree in psychiatry in 1998 and his PhD in neurobiology in 2007. He has research experience in depression, including diagnosis and treatment, suicide risk factor assessment, crisis intervention for suicide attempters, and suicide survivors. He has taught psychiatry to international students from Zhejiang Chinese Medical University and Hangzhou Normal University. He is a visiting scholar of the Academic Medical Center at the University of Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
